History & Growth
The Fire Department was established in 1924 as the Montour Valley Fire Department. It was changed in 1936 to the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department. The department started out with one fire engine. Now, it operates with five Class A pumpers, a Rescue Truck, 1 105' Ladder Truck, 2 Brush Trucks, 2 Squad Trucks, a Special Service 6x6 UTV with enclosed trailer and 2 Chief Trucks. We are very aware of the growth taking place in Findlay Township and are always updating our equipment and firefighting techniques.
Our main firehouse is now located at 111 Pine Street in Imperial. Our substations are located on Matchette Road in Clinton and on Aten Road in Westbury. We currently have 30 volunteer members that range from Fire Fighters to Social members that work out of these locations. This coverage provides superior fire protection to serve all of Findlay Township.
The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for good people to help the organization. Applications may be obtained at the main firehouse any Wednesday evening or by contacting any member of the Fire Department.
The Fire Department rents their Hall for events up to 100 people. These events range from baby showers, meetings, birthday parties, and weddings. Call 724-695-8845 for information.
